The civil wedding of Louisa and Dominik, which I had the pleasure of photographing two days before their big celebration, was a perfect warm-up for the main event. I met them in their hotel room, where they were getting ready, sharing laughs and enjoying a glass of champagne. I spent a wonderful morning with them, witnessing the excitement of their first official vows and getting to know their close circle of family and friends. It was a beautiful and heartwarming start to their wedding journey.
I really enjoy photographing a get-together or civil ceremony before the main wedding. It makes the experience more comfortable for the couple and guests, as they've already seen me and gotten used to the camera. From a photographic perspective, capturing the first meeting between the couple and their guests is often incredibly beautiful and emotional. That's why I love saying YES to civil weddings and small gatherings, especially for couples whose main wedding I also accompany. It allows for a more personal connection and makes each event even more special.
