Wedding at Helmkehof – For Pia and Robin’s beautiful urban wedding, I traveled to Hannover once again.
The couple contacted me about a year before their celebration. After a few emails and a Skype call, we were all clear that I would capture the most beautiful moments of their day. I was so excited because Pia and Robin are among the kindest people I’ve ever met. They have such a wonderful, warm aura, and seeing how they interacted inspired me right away.
I also love Hannover and its vibe. It’s the place where I learned photography, so it’s especially meaningful. A wedding at the Helmkehof is a total highlight for me. The location offers so much space, and you can really make it your own! Anyone who gets married there is having a cool, alternative celebration—and that’s exactly what Pia and Robin did. Pia had a small getting ready with her maid of honor and sister at the studio. They were styled by my best friend and wonderful stylist Ria Saage. Pia was calm, sipping a glass of champagne and enjoying the moment.
I took a look at the location and the spot for the ceremony, which was decorated with flowers, fairy lights, and a few little details. It didn’t need much to make it look beautiful and completely reflect the couple’s style. Then it was Robin’s turn to get ready, and a first little excitement began to build. He was ready—more ready than ever, it seemed.
What was really special was their first look. Robin stood outside, preparing himself. You could hear Pia’s footsteps as she slowly approached him, and suddenly beautiful music filled the entire courtyard, creating an unforgettable atmosphere. Their DJ, Mike, didn’t miss the chance to make the moment even more magical. Pia approached, tapped Robin on the shoulder, and then everything was perfect. I’ve never seen someone shine like Robin did in that moment. He was beyond happy, and they looked at each other so lovingly. They celebrated each other wholeheartedly. Even weeks later, I smile when I think of that moment.
Next came the beautiful and emotional ceremony. Their personal vows, the ceremony led by their friend, and how the day unfolded… that’s how a celebration should be! Surrounded by loved ones, good music, and at a truly special place. I look forward to the next time in Hannover. The next wedding at the Helmkehof. I wish Pia and Robin all the best! A marriage filled with beautiful and unforgettable moments, just like their wedding. Surrounded by friends and family who always remind them how important they are.
